Through the years, we have built solid business relationships with many commercial fleets including the SF Bar Pilots, police & sheriff department marine units, tug boat operators, dredge operators, commercial fishermen, charter boat operators and fireboat units.  We service many crew boats for a variety of construction companies and also repair lifeboats on large ships.

Our expansive boatyard sits on 5 acres of land in Point Richmond, California (San Francisco Bay). Bay Marine Boatworks has a 100 metric ton Travelift and we can accommodate vessels with a max beam of 23’ 4”. We have dry-docking capabilities for 28 shored vessels, a trailerable boat section and approximately 600’ of berth space in our deep water marina. We take pride in the fact that we make your yard visit a stress free experience.

Our Boatyard History

In 1977, the founder, Bill Elliott, along with his master craftsmen, established a special niche in the wooden shipbuilding business in the area of construction and repair of wooden ships.  As times changed, techniques and materials improved and today, we have expanded into a full-service yacht repair company employing between 25-30 yacht repair professionals at this yard.  Bill went on to found Bay Ship & Yacht, a large shipyard that employs over 250 people in a state of the art Alameda Shipyard.  Services include an engineering department, prop shop, fabrication shop and fleet services.  The shipyard has branched out to offer additional services at satellite locations including Pier 50 and our Treasure Island locations.  These additional resources make Bay Marine Boatworks a boatyard that has the technology and expertise to tackle even the most difficult tasks.
